The team swam really well, with some outstanding performances from the likes of Sarah Lidbetter, Adam Giambrone, Sebastian Leather, to name just a few. The club had two swimmers who qualified for the Cheesestrings ASA National Championships held at Ponds Forge International Swimming Centre Sheffield at the end of July. In the girls 12 yrs age group Charlotte Hope qualified in 4 freestyle events and set PB’S in all 4 events. The highlights being a well deserved 13th place in the 200 metres in a time of 2.16.51 secs and then took over 9secs off her PB to take 10th place in the 800mtrs in a time of 9.43.80 secs. Potter from CLUB SHOP The club shop will be open as soon as possible; we hope to run the shop on the 1st Sunday of each month starting in October, subject to final discussions with the leisure centre management on the exact location for the shop to operate from. If any members require swim equipment in the meantime you can contact us through the web-site or speak to Bob Hope in the viewing area or in the foyer of the leisure centre. HELPERS NEEDED To make Elmbridge Phoenix SC run well we are always in need of volunteers to assist at Little / Big League, Club Championships, Galas. Also and very importantly we need poolside helpers on normal training nights, in addition we would welcome anyone interested in becoming Timekeepers and hopefully progress to become referees and Judges. Any parents or older swimmers maybe, who would like to help us in any way please let us know we will be very pleased to hear from you We have unfortunately lost the services of Matthew Kelleher who had been producing a monthly news letter. We would like to thank Matthew for his work and also appeal to anyone who has a journalistic talent, and thinks they could help to produce the newsletter for the future please contact any committee member, again we would be pleased to hear from you.
Thank you for taking time to read this newsletter GOOD LUCK IN THE COMING MONTHS |
