How can I earn an award?

Stroke flashes are awarded for 50m and 100m swims under a specified time in backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle and for 100m and 200m swims for Individual Medley.

Round Badge awards are issued the first time a swimmer achieves that level in any stroke.

Certificates are awarded when the swimmer has achieved that level in all four strokes.

How much will my award cost?

Stroke flashes cost £1 Badges cost £2 Certificates are FREE

What will I do with my award?

Some swimmers like to collect their award and keep it at home (the ASA issue Award Files at a cost of about £5.50 for this - please notify the Badge Coordinator if you would like to place an order.)

Others sew awards on their special swimming towel… but we would encourage you to sew your badges on your club T-shirt as this is a good way to show your strength when we compete against other clubs (Please use the photograph on the awards poster as a guide to badge arranging for this - or contact us)

Where can I achieve an award time?

Swimmers can achieve their times at:

• Big League/ Little League (50m swims)
• Elmbridge Club Championships (100m and I.M. swims)
• Rother League and Speedo (not for relays)
• Any recognised licensed Open Meet gala

How will I know if I have achieved an award?

Shortly after the Big/Little League galas and after the Club Championships the badge co-ordinators will post on the club web-site a list of swimmers qualifying for their next flash.

Swimmers achieving awards at other galas will need to notify the badge co-ordinators by e-mail so that their swim time can be verified.

How can I order an award?

• Please collect an award order form from the communication desk (Wednesday or Sunday) or download the form here.
• Complete the form and hand it in with monies, in a sealed envelope addressed to the Badge Co-ordinator.
• Collect your award and receipt from the Communication Desk a few days later.

PLEASE NOTE: failure to respond to the web-site notification that you have earned a reward will be taken as indication you do not wish to claim it and no further reminders will be issued.
